Hello Readers,

Mexican food and Tex Mex is definitely my #1, and I am so excited to bring you Mesero at Legacy West.IMG_8829.JPG

Mesero’s slogan  is “Mexican Spirit American Life,” and they definitely live up to it.  The restaurant looks so fancy passing by, and it has been on my list of places to visit for quite some time.  I was very pleased to be seated so quickly, and I was definitely well taken care of with friendly and fast service.  This restaurant definitely lives up to the sophisticated vibe that it gives off.

The meal was started off with chips and salsa, with a variety offered including pulla, mesero (red and green tomato, avocado, onion, and queso fresco), habanero, de meso, and my favorite, pachi pachi (green tomato, red tomato, chile de arbol).  Initially, only three choices are brought out, so be sure to ask for all 5 if you are a salsa enthusiast.  My sweetie opted to add an order of guacamole.

I will preface this by saying that I am not a huge fan of gauc, but this was definitely an exception. I have never been more surprised, as this guacamole has left me craving more ever since.  So creamy and full of flavor… I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!

When I go to new places, I typically like to order sampler platters to get a taste of as many different items as possible.  We opted for one of the choices under LAS COMBINACIONES, ultimately choosing the #1 with an oaxaquena enchilada, asada (barbecued) taco, mesero slaw, and arroz blanco (white rice).

This was a fantastic choice- the slaw was fresh, and the rice had just the right amount of cilantro (once again, I am normally not a fan, but it had the perfect amount for taste). The veggies in the taco were also very fresh and delicious.  I was not expecting the mole sauce on the enchilada to be sweet, but it was something completely different for me and I loved it.

And of course, I had to try their unique drinks a well.  The Cocorita (pictured) is mixed with coconut, fresh lime and cinnamon, described as being “silky and sweet.”  In addition, my favorite drink was definitely the El Diablo- mixed with devils river bourbon and berry-basil smash.  A fantastic and unique non alcoholic beverage to try is their peach ginger iced tea- super yummy on a hot summer day!IMG_8882.JPG

I am SO impressed with yet another awesome stop in Legacy West, and I hopethat you will try out this flavorful Tex Mex on your next trip, with locations in Dallas Plano, and Fort Wort ~
